Solar Light for a Bright Future-One village at a time.
Farmers in a remote village in the horn of Africa have been using kerosene, wood, lamps, and candles to light their homes. All of these are Inefficient, expensive and contribute to environmental degradation and are hazardous for health. Students in this rural area walk for many hours to get to their nearest school and back to their homes. They depend on kerosene lamps, candles or wood firelight which is often not available when needed to read or study.
Women in the village also need light to milk cows when they come back in the dark. Farmers who have Cell Phones also walk for many miles to the nearest small town to charge their batteries. There were also no streetlights or headlights to break up the night. Without light it is easy for thieves to steal livestock or for wild animals to come and attack the livestock.
With your help we can reduce the problem one village at a time.
